Asset Publish Tool and USD Workflow Example

In this video demo, I discuss the new Asset Publish Tool that I am writing in Python to process assets in Blender. The goal is to build my own USD pipeline for moving assets between Blender and Unreal Engine 5.

 

In this follow-up video demo, I discuss how I’ve automated the process for transferring whole scenes from Blender to Unreal Engine using my Python script and some of my own custom tools to convert the scene into a USD stage.

Unity and C# Example

This is an example of a space flight simulator that I built using Unity and C#.

Custom Real-time Particle Example

This is an example of a real-time particle system that I built from scratch. It provides better options for customization than Blender’s built in particle system and it’s simple interface offers powerful customization features.

Houdini HDA Example

I built a generator in Houdini so that I will have a Houdini Digital Asset that will provide artists with an easy to use interface to generate a wide variety of rocket ships. This approach uses a few simple parameters to create the customization and this results in many looks while keeping the rocket variants inline with the established design language and style of the project.
